Irish dance has been part of my life for more than 20 years. As the mother of Irish dancers, including a TCRG at Cunningham Academy, I know how much goes into every performance—the practice, the anticipation and the pride shared by the whole family.

I’m Cathrin Andel, an Irish dance photographer and a professional photographer since 2012. My work has appeared on the cover of Irish Dancing Magazine (IDM), and I’m an official RCCEA photographer. My connection to this community shapes how I photograph: with an understanding of the dance and an interest in the person behind it.
