About Cathrin Andel — Irish Dance Photographer

I’m Cathrin Andel, an Irish dance photographer based in Vienna, Austria. A professional photographer since 2012, I photograph dancers at feiseanna, championships and personal portrait sessions worldwide.

I’m an official RCCEA photographer, vetted by both RCCEA and CLRG. My work has also appeared on the cover of Irish Dancing Magazine (IDM).

More Than the Steps

Irish dance has been part of our family life for more than 20 years. My children grew up dancing, and one now teaches at Cunningham Academy as a qualified TCRG. As a dance mum, I know the hours of practice, the nerves before stepping on stage and the pride that comes afterwards.

Irish Dance Portraits That Feel Like You

Your dancing is part of your story. Your photographs should show who you are, too.

Whether you want portraits in your competition dress, movement captured in a city setting or something more relaxed and creative, we’ll plan a photoshoot around your personality and style.

You don’t need to arrive knowing how to pose. I’ll guide you through the session, with room for your ideas and the moments that happen naturally.

Let’s Create Your Next Photo Moment

Perhaps you’ve been dreaming of photographs in your favourite city, want to celebrate a milestone in your dancing, or simply love the idea of doing something just for you.

I’d love to hear your ideas—even if they’re only a starting point. We can choose a location, talk about what you’d like to wear and plan an Irish dance photoshoot that feels like you.

And if you’re organising a feis or championship, you’re welcome to get in touch about event photography, too.
